ARNOLD, Galord LZ - age 88, of Swartz Creek, died Monday, November 24, 2014 at Angel Manor in Clio. Services will be held 11 AM Saturday, November 29, 2014 at Sharp Funeral Homes, Miller Road Chapel, 8138 Miller Rd., Swartz Creek. Visitation will be held 4-8 PM Friday at the funeral home. Those desiring may make memorial contributions to Angel Manor, Medical Team Hospice or the Alzheimer's Association. Mr. Arnold was born May 1, 1926 in Gratiot County, the son of James and Hilda (Powell) Arnold. He married Mareta Wiefrich on June 4, 1949 in St. Louis, MI and she preceded him in death on May 11, 2008. Mr. Arnold was a veteran of the U.S. Army serving in World War II. He retired form Buick Motor Division in 1985 after 36 years. Surviving are: children, Gladys Shepard of OK, Crystal (Jack) Penrod of Corunna, Glen (Toni) Arnold of Wyoming, MI, Ross (Barbara) Arnold of Lennon, Alan (Mary) Arnold of Flushing, Gale (Gail) Arnold of MT, Laura (Bob) Warrell of OK and Lisa (Tom) Thurm of OK; 24 grandchildren; 29 great grandchildren, siblings, Melva (Rich) Welty of MT, Dewey (Janice) Arnold of MT. His parents; five brothers, Gordon, Albert, James, Jr., Fred, and David; and Herschel Powell preceded him in death.
