HOLTSLANDER, Lloyd H. – Of Swartz Creek, age 83, died Friday, December 26, 2014 at his residence.
Funeral service will be held at 12 noon Wednesday, December 31, 2014 at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road, Pastor Don Neuville
officiating.
Burial in Sunset Hills Cemetery.
Those desiring may make contributions to the American Lung Association or the Michigan Lupus Foundation.
Visitation 5-8 p.m. Monday and 10 a.m.-2 p.m. and 3-7 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
Lloyd was born in Flint, Michigan on January 31, 1931, the son of Robert and Dorothy (Wertman) Holtslander and was a resident of the Linden and Swartz Creek areas most of his life.
He attended Fenton High School.
Lloyd served in the U.S. Navy Air Division.
He married Peggy Taylor on December 26, 1948.
He was a member of Swartz Creek United Methodist Church. He loved flying and his plane, as well as being an avid boater for many years.
Mr. Holtslander was employed by General Motors for 26 years, retiring from AC Spark Plug Division as a Supervisor in 1987. He also owned and operated Lloyd Holtslander Painting and Decorating.
Surviving are three children, Carol and husband Phil Lowman of
Bloomfield Hills,
Suu Holtslander of Tucson, Arizona,
Thomas and wife Tari of Kentwood;
grandchildren, Brian and wife Katie Holtslander,
Jenny and husband Evan Owens,
Briana and husband Scott Clausen
Ian Gohlke,
three great-grandchildren;
sister, Betty and husband Richard Fent of Aiken, South Carolina;
sister-in-law, Nettie Holtslander of Linden;
several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Peggy; parents; brothers, Fred and Robert; sister, Barbara Dupree.
