HAZEN, Wilfred – of Flint, age 95, passed away March 23, 2012 at Hurley Medical Center. A Funeral Service will be held 11:00 am Tuesday, March 27, 2012 at Allen Funeral Home, 9136 Davison Rd., Davison. Pastor Daniel J. Wallace officiating. Entombment will follow in Flint Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be 11 am – 2 pm and 4 – 8 pm Monday. A Masonic Memorial Service under the auspices of Fellowship Lodge #490 F. & A.M. will be 4:00 pm Monday. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Davison Free Methodist Church.
Wilfred was born in Berlin Twp., MI on October 13, 1916, son of the late Arthur and Elizabeth (Davis) Hazen. He married Martha J. Peel on May 23, 1936 and she preceded him in death on April 12, 1993. Wilfred was a member of the Flint Masonic Lodge #490, Genesee Sportsmen Club and the Civilian Conservation Corps. He retired from GM in 1975.
Wilfred is survived by his daughter, Virginia (Walter) Fike; grandchildren, Nancy Fike, James (Jamie) Fike, Gary (Anne) Hazen, Lisa (Craig) Smith; great-grandchildren, Aaron Hazen, Kevin Hazen, Peter Smith, Jacob Smith, Sophia Fike and Cordelia Fike; daughter-in-law, Wilma Hazen. He was preceded in death by son, Edward A. Hazen in 1997; siblings, Mary Ross, Emily Kotske, Oscar Hazen, Charles Hazen, Laverne Hazen and Mabel Hazen.
