Raymond George Hamilton passed away peacefully at his home on June 1, 2017 in Clio, MI at the age of 77.
Raymond is survived by his daughter Traci Renee Hamilton (Husband Ty Hodges) (Clio, MI), daughter-in-law Laurie Mae Hamilton (Birch Run, MI), and grandson Brent Raymond Hamilton (Birch Run, MI). He is preceded in death by his wife Louise (Holbin) Hamilton and son Todd Raymond Hamilton.
Raymond was born on August 2, 1939 in Flint, MI to George and Jennie (Raymond) Hamilton. He grew up in Flint, MI, where his father worked at Chevrolet. When his father retired, the family moved to St. Joseph Island, Ontario. He eventually moved to Clio, MI where he married his wife Louise Holbin on May 25, 1963. After the two wed, they raised their children Todd and Traci, in the home that they built in Clio, MI. Ray and Louise resided there until their deaths.
Ray sailed the Great Lakes when he was young, but after moving to Clio, started working at General Motors Fisher Body where he eventually retired. At his home in Clio he founded Hamilton Auto Sales, where he would buy, sell, repair, and restore cars. Ray had a love for classic cars and he bought and sold many over the years. He passed this love down to his children and grandchild. Ray regularly enjoyed attending car shows and cruises with his family and friends.
Ray will be dearly missed as a loving and caring father, grandfather, and friend.
