PAYNE, Patricia A. – of Montrose, age 84, died on Wednesday, September 30, 2020 in the comfort of her home. Honoring her wishes, cremation will be taking place. No services will be held.
Patricia was born February 12, 1936 in Flint, Michigan to the late Arthur and Dora (Luthur) Cook. She worked as an operator for Ma Bell Telephone Company for 40 years before retiring in 1990. Patricia was an amazingly strong woman and quite the force to be reckoned with. She had a feisty eternal fire inside her, never sat still, and was a no-nonsense lady. Patricia was a lifelong animal activist who took great pride in preserving wildlife and animal conservation. She loved all animals, wildlife, birds and had a special place in her heart caring for homeless animals. Patricia enjoyed antiquing and had an eye for finding special treasures. She will be greatly missed.
Surviving are: Sisters: Maggie Mellow, Michele Miller, and Deborah Wittbrodt; Special niece, Terri-Anne Murphy (Joe Pringle); Special friend, Carol Smith; Many other loving nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends.
