SMITH, Corwin E. – of Pontiac, age 47, passed away June 9, 2015 at Seasons Hospice at Harper University Hospital in Detroit. A Funeral Service will be held 11 AM Friday, June 12, 2015 at Allen Funeral Home, 9136 Davison Rd., Davison. Burial will be in Great Lakes National Cemetery. Visitation will be 12-8 PM Thursday. There will be one hour of visitation prior to the service on Friday. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made for the future of Corwin’s children in care of Chanthy Smith.
Corwin was born in Flint, MI on February 10, 1968, son of the late CW and Gloria (Alspach) Smith. He retired as a mail processing clerk at Pontiac Metroplex Post Office after 21 years of service and formerly worked at Flint Main Post Office. Corwin was a tinker mechanic on cars and always loved a good deal. He was a member of the BMW Club. Corwin loved his Adidas, music, going to the gun range and always dreamt of moving to Tennessee. He always had a kind heart, was generous and easy-going.
Corwin is survived by children, Ashton Corwin Smith, Serena Sue Smith and Cameron Joseph Smith; sister, Danita Rose Parks (Barry Clevenger), Chanthy Smith and Callie Nadean Smith (Daniel Crawford); brother, Travis Smith; special friend, Tiffany Battle. He was preceded in death by daughter, Andra Smith; beloved dog, Brutus.
