Barbara L. Sherbenaut, 77, of Houghton Lake passed away on Saturday May 21, 2011 at King Nursing and Rehabilitation Centre.
Barbara was born on May 16, 1934 in Flint to the late Alfred and Maybelle (Beznoska) Hutchins. She was married in Las Vegas, Nevada on January 7, 1977 to Charles E. Sherbenaut and he survives. Barbara worked for General Motors for many years moving up to a supervision position. She had spent many years at plant #8 in Flint until retiring in 1987. The couple moved to Houghton Lake from Flint in 1995. Barbara enjoyed fishing and was an instructor in ceramics.
Mrs. Sherbenaut is survived by her loving husband, Charles E. Sherbenaut of Houghton Lake; two daughters, Sylva(Bill) Timinski of Alaska, and Jolyn(Rodney) Kinney of Farwell; three sons, Robert(James Pytko) Pollard of Houghton Lake, Brian(Darlene) Pollard of Houghton Lake, and John(Vivian) Sherbenaut of Nebraska; nine grandchildren; and fourteen great grandchildren.
Private family services for Mrs. Barbara L. Sherbenaut will be conducted at the family home. Interment will be in Sunset Hills Cemetery, Flushing. Those wishing to make memorial donations in Barbara’s memory are asked to consider The American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (ASPCA). Christler Funeral Home, Houghton Lake Chapel is serving the family.
