Larry George Davis, 77, of Lapeer for 56 years formerly of Tucson, AZ, died at home Wednesday February 22, 2017. He was born January 7, 1940 in Marietta, OH to parents Roy and Grace (Ashby) Davis. Larry graduated from Sunnyside High School and went on to enlist in the United States Air Force. Mr. Davis married Kendra Lee Coulter on March 21, 1959 in Tucson, AZ.
Larry was a good provider his whole life; 20 years in tool and die for air craft / aerospace manufacturing then 30 years as owner operator of Davis & Son Landscaping here in Lapeer. He was a member of: the Odd Fellows, Great Lake Indian Culture Association and the Lapeer County Horticulture Club. Mr. Davis was a Boy Scouts: Cub Master and Scout Master. He enjoyed camping, wintering in Arizona, Indian dancing and loved his slot machines at the casino. Larry loved having grandchildren.
Mr. Davis is survived by his wife of nearly 58 years: Kendra Davis, children: Dianna Miller of Columbiaville; Brian (Kim) Davis of Lapeer; Allison (Steve) Smith of Columbiaville; Rodney (Andrea) Davis of Lapeer, grandchildren: Gina; Shane; Joey; Jacqueline; Melissa; Holly; Hailey, great-grandchildren: Madalynn; Shane, Jr.; Lexi; Jax; Rhyder; Brody; Chole and Peyton. He was preceded in death by his parents, in-laws: Kenneth & Lillian Coulter and his son-in-law: Dean Miller.
Larry's visitation will be 1:00-4:00 & 6:00-9:00pm Friday at Muir Brothers Funeral Home, Lapeer. His funeral will be 11:00am Saturday February 25, 2017 at Muirs, officiated by Pastor Jeremy Lazzell. Cremation will follow services, inurnment will privately take place next week in Stiles Cemetery.
