RUTHERFORD, Betty Lou - Of Mt. Morris, age 91, died Sunday, April 22, 2018 at Maple Woods Manor, Clio.
Funeral service will be held 11am Thursday, April 26, 2018 at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road, Flint,
Reverend James F. Offrink officiating.
Burial in Flint Memorial Park.
Visitation 2-8pm Wednesday at the funeral home.
Contributions may be made to the family.
Betty was born in Flint on February 6, 1927, the daughter of the late Lavern and Mildred (Sprague) VanGilder. She worked in the lunchroom at Kearsley Schools. Betty enjoyed bowling for many years. She was an Elvis and Patsy Cline fan and loved to sing all music. Betty enjoyed watching birds and going to casinos, watching Detroit Tiger baseball and family gatherings. Betty was a member of Heritage UCC Church and the Clio Eagles.
Surviving are children, Tim, Frank Jr., Shawn (Rodger) Hadden, Tom (Kim) and Randy (Linda);
13 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren;
sisters, Cookie Boyd and Deanna Forbes;
and brother, Jimmy (Carol) VanGilder.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Frank Sr., son, Harry, grandson, Jason Rutherford, brother Lavern VanGilder and sister, Bonnie Brown.
