BOROWICZ, Joyce Ann - Age 85, of Swartz Creek, died Monday, September 24, 2018. Funeral Mass will be celebrated 11:30 AM Friday, September 28, 2018 at St. Pius X Catholic Church, 3139 Hogarth Ave., Flint. Fr. Anthony Strouse celebrant. Entombment in the Mausoleum at New Calvary Catholic Cemetery. Visitation will be held at Sharp Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 6063 Fenton Road, Grand Blanc Township Thursday from 1-8 PM where a Rosary will be prayed at 7:00 PM and visitation at the church Friday from 10:30 AM until the time of the Mass. Those desiring may make contributions to St. Pius X Catholic Church or Patrick Kelley PKS Fund, c/o Tim Kelley.
Joyce was born August 12, 1933 in Cheboygan, the daughter of Patrick and Merle (Shessia) McGovern. She married Stephen Borowicz November 11, 1950 in Cheboygan and he preceded her in death November 28, 2015. She was a member of St. Pius X Catholic Church and the Altar Society. She enjoyed golfing, bowling, playing cards, traveling, knitting, crocheting, and arts and crafts. Joyce is also in the Flint Bowling Hall of Fame.
Surviving are: her daughters, Lucinda and husband Dennis McNea of Burton and Lorraine and husband Ron Boehmer of Sterling Heights; grandchildren, Charles and wife Jennifer Metcalfe, Leslie Metcalfe, Jessica Metcalfe, Melissa Hatchew, Timothy and wife Annie Kelley, and Therese and husband Tony Wiley; great grandchildren, Avery, Patrick, Jameson, Joshua, and Abigail; brothers, Pat and wife Kay McGovern, Duane and wife Elke McGovern, Jack and wife Eve McGovern, and Clayton and wife Vicki McGovern; sisters, Sandy and husband Harry Budzinski, Pamela and husband Ken Kitchen, and Kathy Pruchnicki; and several nieces and nephews.
She was also preceded in death by her parents; son, Mark Borowicz; great granddaughter, Candace Fisher; and sister, Sharon Platzer. Tributes may be shared at www.sharpfuneralhomes.com. |
