Sawatzki, Delbert H. of Flushing, age 90, died Friday, February 6, 2015, at his home. Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Tuesday, February 10, 2015, at the Flushing Presbyterian Church, 5010 N. McKinley Road, Flushing. Rev. Teresa Peterson will officiate. Burial will be at Flushing Cemetery. Visitation will be 1-8 p.m. Sunday and Monday at Rossell Funeral Home and 10 a.m. Tuesday at the church until time of the service. If desired, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.
Delbert was born in Saginaw, MI on September 6, 1924, the son of Albert and Olive (Larson) Sawatzki. Delbert married Carol E. Delelys in Detroit on August 23, 1947, and were married for over 67 years.
Mr. Sawatzki was a Supervisor at Continental Baking Company, retiring in 1983 after working 36 years. He was a World War II Army Veteran and was a member of the Flushing Presbyterian Church.
Delbert is survived by his beloved wife, Carol; son, Craig; four grandchildren, Brett, Sara, Bryan, Joseph; seven great-grandchildren, Andrew, Jaxson, Cole, Jace, Cal, Keegan, Brynley. He was preceded in death by two sons, Kurt and Gary, and adopted son, Dale.
