Frank Joseph Delecki Sr., age 77, passed away, peacefully, October 20, 2017, at Beaumont Hospital-Royal Oak where cremation followed with Generations Funeral & Cremation Services.
Frank lived in Gladwin, MI. formally of Clio. He was born on October 6, 1940, to John and Jennie (Kuock) Delecki in Flint, MI. where he was raised. In 1996 Frank married Norma Hall (Pyne) in Mt. Morris at the Methodist Church and lived in Clio until he retired in 2002. Frank worked for General Motors for 26 years as a fork truck driver.
Frank made many friends no matter where he went and touched many lives, he was the type of person that would give you his last dime. He raced cars at Auto City Speedway and Dixie Motor Speedway and many other Michigan tracks making a name for himself in the auto racing circle. He was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles in Clio and transferred to Secord Eagles in Gladwin. He was a member in the Moose Lodge of Birch Run also. Frank loved to play cards and play “Frank wins”, liked going out to dinner with Norma and close friends. These friends in Secord were like brothers and sisters to him. He spent lots of time in his garage helping others by working on their vehicles and looked forward to canning every fall with Norma.
Frank was all about family, he loved spending time with family any chance he got, he would visit his siblings, nieces, nephews and his children to see them and his grandchildren. As a father, he was known to take his kids, camping, canoeing, and hill climbing at the Flushing Park. He would often go visiting relatives and bring home a cousin to spend time with the family. Later in life he enjoyed spending time with family outdoors jeeping, cutting down trees and sitting around the campfire.
Frank was preceded in death by his parents, John & Jennie (Kuock) Delecki, siblings John Slager, Eddie Slager, Stella (Slager) Fyke, Mary (Slager) Petrove, Fran (Delecki) Wojtysiak, Paul Delecki, and Don Delecki. He is survived by his wife, Norma, daughter, Glenda (Tom) Brokaw, sons Terry (Suzie) Delecki, Frank Jr. (Karen) Delecki, Mike Hall, Tom (Judi) Hall, Dan Hall, David Hall, siblings Jim (Marcella) Delecki, and Julie Delecki. Grandchildren Joe (Martha) McGinnis, Jenny McGinnis, Mariah & Jake Delecki, Megan Hall, Amanda Hall, Robbie (Sam) Hall, Randi (Josh) Baire, Jessica (Joe) Mahan, Rachel Kujacznski and 4 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held Sunday November 5, 2017 at the Secord Eagles, 3485 N. Lakeshore Gladwin, MI. 48624 at 1:30pm. In the spring, we will have a life celebration in Clio. Date, time and place will be decided later.
