LALONDE, Richard O. “Dick” – of Davison, age 90, passed away February 2, 2018 at Hurley Medical Center. A Funeral Service will be held 11 AM Tuesday February 6, 2018 at Faith Baptist Church, 7306 E. Atherton Rd., Davison; Pastor Shawn Kook officiating. Burial with Military Honors will be in Meadowview Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be 3-8 PM Monday at Allen Funeral Home, 9136 Davison Rd., Davison and 10-11 AM Tuesday at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Karmanos Cancer Institute at McLaren.
Richard was born in Grand Rapids, MI on October 20, 1927, son of the late Albert and Mary (Orvis) LaLonde, Sr. He married Frances Thompson on December 15, 1952 and she preceded him in death on September 8, 2001. Richard worked for Associated Truckline as a truckdriver, retiring in 1989. He was an avid hunter and a lifetime member of Flint Bowmen.
Richard is survived by his children, Timothy (Kim), Thomas (Janice), Susan (Kenneth) Smith, Karen LaLonde, Terry (Dianna), Jack (Cindy), Laurie LaLonde, Larry (Mary); 21 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. In addition to his wife and parents, Richard was preceded in death by his second mother, Esther (Benson) LaLonde; grandson, Timothy F. LaLonde, Jr.; sister, Peggy Chartrand; brother, Albert LaLonde, Jr.
