BELLINGER, Dennis E.”Denny” – of Clio, age 87, died Saturday, March 31, 2012 at Maple Woods Manor in Clio. Funeral services will be held at 12 Noon Wednesday, April 4, 2012 at the O’Guinn Family Funeral Home in Clio. Rev. Bob Burkey officiating. Burial in West Vienna Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home on Monday from 7-9 PM, Tuesday from 12-9PM and on Wednesday from 10AM until time of services at 12 Noon. A Masonic memorial service will take place on Tuesday at 7PM. Contributions may be made to Special Needs Vision Clinic or Leader Dogs for the Blind.
Dennis was born August 6, 1924 in Thetford Township to the late William and Zina (Saxton) Bellinger. He lived in Clio his entire life. He married Helene MacDougall in 1945. She preceded him in death in 2005. He then married Myra Hobson on May 24, 2008. Dennis served in the Army Air Corp during WW II. He retired from Chevrolet V8 with 38 years seniority as a supervisor. Mr. Bellinger was a charter member of Bethany United Methodist Church. He was also a member of the Clio VFW Post #1452, American Legion Post #158, Vienna Masonic Lodge # 205 F & AM and Order of Eastern Star, Chapter #283. He was a 32nd degree Mason Scottish Rite, Elf Khurafeh Shrine Temple, Bay City Consistory. Mr. Bellinger was Past District Governor, State of Michigan, 11D1 for the Lions Club.
Surviving are: wife, Myra; children, Denis “Mitch” (Paula) Bellinger of TN, Denise Bellinger-Jabboury of Troy, Howard “Chum” (Debbie) Hobson of Hudsonville, LaRee Hobson of Greenville, LaVar Hobson of NV, Vanessa Hobson of Northville; 16 grandchildren; 4 great grandchildren; many nieces and nephews.
