ATKINSON, Theresa Ann (Croll) – of Vernon, MI, age 80, passed away Wednesday, September 25, 2024. A Funeral Service will be held 11 AM Wednesday, October 2, 2024 at Allen Funeral Home, 9136 Davison Road, Davison, MI 48423; Deacon Greg Middleton officiating. Interment immediately following the service in St. John Catholic Cemetery. The family will receive visitors 4-7 PM Tuesday, October 1, 2024 and 10-11 AM Wednesday, October 2, 2024 at Allen Funeral Home. A time for Sharing of Memories will be held 6:30 PM Tuesday, October 1, 2024 followed by a Rosary at Allen Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the family, in Theresa’s memory.
Theresa was born in Detroit, MI on May 16, 1944, daughter of the late Kenneth and Ramah (List) Croll. She was a graduate of Sacred Heart Catholic High School, Mount Pleasant, MI Class of 1963. On December 6, 1964, Theresa married Darl Atkinson in Mount Pleasant, MI. Theresa’s greatest joy came from her family, particularly her children and grandchildren, who brought her endless joy. She valued family time, prepping meals every night and celebrating meals together. Known for her playful spirit, her warm laughter could often be heard during family gatherings. A faithful member of St. Mary Catholic Church in Durand, MI, Theresa embodied kindness and generosity, leaving a lasting impact on all who knew her. She will be remembered not only for her love of family but also for her vibrant spirit and unwavering faith.
Theresa is survived by her husband, Darl Atkinson; 4 children, Sherry (Christopher) Hathaway, Tamala (Richard) Savidant, Christina (Timothy) Carr and Steven (Kristin) Atkinson; 11 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren; 10 siblings, Anthony Croll, Timothy Croll, Christopher Croll, Theodore Croll, David Croll, Mary Ann Hockman, Rosemarie Croll, Mary Donna Krauss, Dana Croll and Dominic Croll; many other loving family members and dear friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Kenneth and Ramah Croll; son, Kenneth Lawrence Darl Atkinson; 3 brothers, Jesus Croll, Thomas Croll and David M. Croll; parents-in-law, Lawrence (Dorothy) Atkinson.
