HOUGHTELING, Agnes M. – of Birch Run, MI, age 83, passed peacefully Thursday, April 2, 2020, at Concerned Country Care, Montrose, Michigan with her family and loving caregivers. A private burial will be at Birch Run Cemetery Birch Run, Michigan.

Agnes was born May 2, 1936 in Caro, Michigan, to the late LeRoy and Ellen Irene (Carpenter) Emmons.
She attended Caro schools. On January, 30, 1954, Agnes married Dwain Houghteling in Clayton Co., Georgia. She worked numerous jobs but spent the last 15 years at Macarthur printing as a print operator. Agnes was a member of the Birch Run Moose Lodge. She was very outgoing and talkative. She loved country music and to line dance. She also enjoyed karaoke singing. Agnes was affiliated with the Birch Run Bible Church in Birch Run, Michigan. Agnes was very proud of the fact that she was able to care for herself and maintain her home for many years. An independent woman who loved to travel to visit family, especially in South Carolina, the mountains, and Miami Florida. She enjoyed theme parks and decorating for Christmas. She also liked to dress in costume for Halloween and decorate her place for the kids that trick or treated. One of Agnes' favorite things to do was to go to O'Grady's restaurant in Clio to enjoy breakfast where she loved visiting with all the regular customers and waitress staff, especially when she was able to have her family with her.

Surviving are; Sons: Terry (Jackie) Houghteling of Miami, Florida, Eddy (Linda) Houghteling of Birch Run, Michigan; Daughters: Reno (Gordon) Shores of Birch Run. Grandchildren: Dawayne Houghteling, Luke Houghteling, Travis Houghteling, Stefan Houghteling, Nolan Houghteling, Lauren Houghteling, Leighton Saint, Landon Shores, Tyler Shores, Cody Shores, Jordan Herrin, Ashton Grabowski, Dakota Grabowski, Collin Grabowski; 18 Great-grandchildren; Brother: Ron (Priscilla) Jakubczak; Son-in-law: Steve Grabowski.
