BROWN, Leona M. – of Clio, age 89, died Wednesday, January 15, 2014 at Maple Woods Manor. Cremation has taken place. Memorial services will be held at 11 AM Saturday, January 18, 2014 at the O’Guinn Family Funeral Home in Clio. Rev. Dr. John Bailey officiating. Friends may call at the funeral home on Saturday from 10 AM until time of services at 11 AM. Contributions may be made to Hurley Foundation, Pediatric ICU.
Mrs. Brown was born March 31, 1924 in Marion, MI daughter of the late John and Anna (Dieterman) Peters. She married Lyle J. Brown on May 6, 1945 in Clio, MI. Mrs. Brown graduated from Clio High School in 1942. She was a 1945 graduate of Hurley Hospital School of Nursing and was a member of the Cadet Nurses of America during WW II. As homemaker and mother, Mrs. Brown also worked in Brown’s Dry Good with her husband, Mrs. Brown was past president of the (Wesley-Trinity) Bethany W.S.C.S.
Mrs. Brown is survived by: husband of 68 years, Lyle; children, Jon (Kim) Brown of FL. Nanette (Fred) Kuhlmann of Lansing, Jennifer (John) Cascarelle of FL, Todd (Jessica) Brown of Davison, Matthew Brown of Clio; 11 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; sister-in-law, Dorothea Peters of Clio; nieces and nephews.
