ROOT, Dorothy B. - Age 93, of Flint Twp., died Sunday, May 29, 2016. Funeral services will be held 1:00 PM Saturday, June 4, 2016 at Sharp Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 6063 Fenton Road, Flint. Visitation will be held 11:00 AM until the time of service on Saturday. Those desiring may make contributions to the American Heart Association or the American Cancer Society.
Dorothy was born June 14, 1922 in Fenton, the daughter of John and Gertrude (Barnam) Bacon. She was a member of Victory Worship Center and an active volunteer in any church that she belonged to, including several youth group camps. Dorothy enjoyed crafts, and making Christmas ornaments.
She is survived by her three children, David Havens, Gary Havens and Linda (Ricky) Adams; nine grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren and 19 great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; three husbands, Mahlond Havens, Clare Peters and Elza Root; 12 siblings.
The family would like to thank the staff at Regency at Grand Blanc and Hartland Hospice.
