Maxine Marie (Stewart) VerDier, Lied, Osmer, Hendricks, Smith, of Flushing, age 90, died Saturday, December 28, 2019 at McLaren-Flint. Funeral service will be 1 p.m. Saturday, January 4 at Rossell Funeral Home. Burial to follow at Sunset Hills Cemetery. Visitation will be 1-8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home and 12 p.m. Saturday until the time of the service. The family would like to extend an invitation to her friends at the Flushing, Clio, Krapohl, Davison, Swartz Creek, and Thetford Senior Centers. She loved dancing with all of you.
Maxine was born in Flint, Michigan on July 19, 1929 to Roy and Frances (Folsum) Stewart. She formerly sat on the Board of Directors for the Flushing Area Senior Center and had a partnership between the Senior Center and Flushing Schools, and was the former Treasurer of the local AARP Chapter. Maxine loved dancing, travelling, and following the bands. She also loved Wednesday afternoons when Sherrie, Audrey, Lynne, Monti, and Dennis H. came over to play dice, eat, and listen to music.
She is survived by her daughter, Sherrie Lied; 10 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great grandchild; sisters, Sally (Frank) Feldhaus, Madeline Geotshy, and Darlene Upton. She was preceded in death by her sons, James VerDier, Louis VerDier, Jr. and her infant son; and siblings, Leroy Stewart, Shirley Hawkins, Dr. Elouise Jordan, and Joan Cox. |
