GROAT, Dorothy Yvonne – Of Flint, Michigan, age 86, died Sunday, June 26, 2011 at Avalon Hospice. Funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday, June 28, 2011 at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road, Pastor Tom Mattiuzzo officiating. A Memorial Service will be conducted by the O.E.S. Chapter #283 at 7 p.m. MOnday evening at the funeral home. Cremation will take place following the funeral service.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Whaley Home or McFarlan Home. Dorothy was born in Latrobe, Pennsylvania on April 15, 1925, the daughter of Carl and Dorothy (Gower) Syster. She married Robert W. Groat on June 28, 1981 in Flint and he preceded her in death.
Surviving are children, Sharyn and Walt Roberts, Richard and Sherrie Moersch, Deb and Dave Fritz; 7 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren;
