ROE, Carolyn Jo – of Flint, age 72, died Monday, February 25, 2019 at her home surrounded by her family. A Memorial Service will be held at 5:00 PM Wednesday, March 6, 2019 at O’Guinn Family Funeral Home in Clio, Michigan. The family will receive visitors on Wednesday, March 6, 2019 from 2:00 PM until time of service at 5:00 PM. Memorial contributions can be made to the American Diabetes Association.
Carolyn was born April 13, 1946 in Morgantown, West Virginia to the late Joseph and Aldine (Thomas) Uphold. She grew up in Morgantown, West Virginia and they moved to Flint, Michigan. She graduated from Beecher High School with the class of 1962. On September 28, 1963 she married Dale Roe in Mt. Morris, Michigan. Carolyn dedicated her life to being a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She found pleasure sitting next to her husband each morning sipping tea while watching the birds flutter about. Family gatherings with competitive volleyball matches. She also enjoyed bingo, scratch off tickets and the casino.
Surviving are: Husband of 55 years Dale; Children, Tammi (Dan) Taylor, Patti (Patrick) McFray, Cathy Roe-Speegle, Judith (John) Roe-Baker, Dale (Kim) Roe ll; Grandchildren, Hannah Taylor, Sara Breeden, Alan (Kaylee) McGlone II, Joshua (Nicole) Roe, Ryan Jacobs, John (Koddi) Baker ll, Kyle Baker, Kameron (Tabitha) Baker, Ashley (Robert) Bennett, Morgan (Jared) Roe, Gavin Roe, Mariah (Daniel) Bailey; Great Grandchildren, Jamarea Steel, Eric Steel Jr., Colton Roe, Dylan Roe, Braylon Roe, Carson Jacobs, Elijah Jacobs, John Baker lll, Ivaya Baker, Kamdyn Baker, Gabriel Bennett, Violet Bennett, Juliette Bailey; Sisters, Barbara Bargar, Martha Massey; and several nieces and nephews.
