Goins, Charles, Jr. of Flushing, age 91, died Sunday, August 16, 2015, at his home. A celebration of Charlie's life will be 2 p.m. Saturday, August 22, 2015, at the Goins' home. Burial of cremated remains will be at Great Lakes National Cemetery at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project.
Charles was born in Mountain Ash, Kentucky on March 6, 1924, the oldest of nine children, born to Charlie and Lilly (Walker) Goins. He married Anita Lowe on July 28, 1969 in Wayne County, Michigan. Charlie proudly served in the U.S. Army during World War II. He was a member of the Disabled American Veterans and was a life member of the NRA. Charlie was an ordained minister for 18 years. He loved fishing and gardening. He especially enjoyed spending time with his children and grandchildren, traveling together and playing music as the Goins Family.
He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Anita; children, Glenda and husband Michael Settle, Annette and husband Robert Bloomfield, Charles and wife Nicoule Goins III; grandchildren, Michael, Allyson (Dan), Ariel (Tom), Trace, Joseph, Lilly, David (Jolie); many great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. Charlie was preceded in death by his daughter, Gail Crowder and son-in-law, Ed Crowder. |
