Davidek, Stefan, prominent Flint born artist died Wednesday, December 14, 2016, at McLaren-Flint. Funeral Mass will be celebrated 11 a.m. Monday, December 19, 2016, at St. Robert Catholic Church, 310 N. Cherry St., Flushing. Fr. Gordon Reigle will officiate. Burial will follow at Sunset Hills Cemetery. Visitation will be 1-3 and 5-8 p.m. Sunday at Rossell Funeral Home and 10 a.m. Monday at the church until the time of the Mass. A Rosary will be prayed 7 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. If desired, memorial contributions may be made to St. Robert Catholic Church, Macular Degeneration Association or Buckham Art Gallery, Flint, Michigan.

Stefan was born in Flint, Michigan on May 15, 1924, the son of Stephen and Anna (Prohaska) Davidek. On June 19, 1948, he married Angelina Grambush at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Flint. He proudly served his country in the Army Air Corps during World War II. Stefan was a graduate of New York Art Students League and Cranbrook Academy of Art. His work is displayed in murals and mosaics at St. Robert Catholic Church, Zehnders in Frankenmuth, the Genesee County Courthouse and various other places throughout the state. He was involved in the decorating of many churches and residences in the area and has many artworks in private and museum collections. Stefan also designed and painted exhibits for the Carol Churchill Pierson Childrens Museum and his art is represented by the Armstrong-DeGraff International Gallery. Together with his brothers, they co-owned Steve Davidek Painting and Decorating, Inc., a four generation family run business. He was a long time member of St. Robert Catholic Church, a member of D.A.S. Print Company for 37 years and has been involved with the Flint Institute of Arts for much of his life. Stefan was dedicated to his family, friends, and all of his clients.

He is survived by his children, Mark and wife Wanda Davidek. Denise and husband Brian Liljeblad, Debra and husband Mike Bobo, Dennis Davidek; grandchildren, Brice (Natalie Russell) Liljeblad, Angelina (Kevin) Dobiesz, Tyler Davidek, Julianna Davidek, Zane Bobo, Evan Bobo, Iwona Davidek; great-grandson, Kedree Liljeblad; sister, Geralidine Benedict; brothers, Robert and Marie Davidek, John Davidek, Paul and Sally Davidek; sister-in-law, Georgina Davidek; and many extended family and friends. Stefan was also preceded in death by his brother, Edward Davidek and brother-in-law, Robert Benedict.
