Dorine E. Sill age 88 of Gaines passed away Sunday, January 7, 2018 at McLaren Regional Medical Center in Flint. Funeral services will be 11:00 AM Thursday, January 11, 2018 at the Gaines United Methodist Church. Family will receive friends on Wednesday from 2-4 and 6-8 PM at Watkins Brothers Funeral Homes, Durand Chapel and one hour prior to the service at the church.
Dorine was born January 27, 1929 in Detroit, MI a daughter of Garland and Blanche (Jubb) Ball. She attended Deer Creek Country School, Linden Elementary School, she graduated from Byron High School and earned her Bachelor’s Degree at Michigan State University in teaching. On October 18, 1947 Dorine married John “Jack” Sill. She was a member of the Gaines United Methodist Church, the Gaines United Methodist Women’s Club and the Eastern Stars. She enjoyed reading and spending time with her family. Prior to her retirement in 1986, she was a school teacher for Byron Area Schools for many years.
Dorine is survived by her children, Pam (John) Ebner, Bill (Pat) Sill, Shirley Riley and Jackie (James) Crain; grandchildren, Adam (Dawn) Richter, Rob (Aimee) Richter, Christine Ebner, Carla (Jeff) Kimsel, William (Molly) Sill, Pat (Kaytee) Riley, John (Emily) Crain and Jacob Crain; great grandchildren, Marilyn Richter, Rebecca and Evelyn Richter, Jadyn, Aubrey and Kalvin Kimsel, Malachi and Malala Sill, Margaret Riley and Grayson Crain; sister, Carolyn (Sam) Olrich; son-in-law, Ray Richter; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jack Sill and daughter, Sandra Richter.
