Mary (Horton) Davis, 98, of Flint, MI passed away on Monday, February 4, 2019, at her home in the
Woodhaven Senior Community. Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Saturday, February 9, 2019, at Rossell Funeral Home. Pastor Joshua Kennedy will officiate. Visitation will be 2-8 p.m. Friday and 10 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home until the time of the service. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to West Flint Church of The Nazarene or McLaren Hospice.
Mary was born April 28, 1920, in Flint to parents, Bert and Lena (Pennels) Hough. She retired from
Consumers Power in 1976. She loved to travel and made it to places like Hawaii, Japan, Australia, France, The Rose Bowl and more. She also loved to bowl and participated on a league until she was 95.
Left to cherish her memory are three children; eight grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren, son Jack (Margaret) French; their two daughters and son, Pam French, Brenda (Ron) Van Fleet with their children, Katie (David) Cromwell, Breanna (Nate) Baroutte, and Zachary, and Daniel (Josette) French; son Harold (Jan) Horton; their two sons, Jeffrey (Joyce) Horton with their two children, Chandler and Tyler, Daniel (Ellen) Horton with their two daughters, Olivia and Hannah; daughter, Shirley Young; her two daughters and son, Mary Jo (Howard) Ring and their daughters, Ashley (Bobby) Slater and Courtney Ring, Barb (Gary) Konuszewski and their four children; Garrett (Ava) Konuszewski with their children Leighton and Gunner, Spencer (Tori) Konuszewski with their son Elliott; Mackenzie (Conner) Robertson with their son Bentley, Hunter Konuszewski; and Gary (Amy) Young with their sons, Connor and Harrison. She also leaves behind a step-daughter, Carol (and Jack) Striggow.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, James Horton (married nearly 50 years); her second husband, Floyd Davis (8 years); son-in-law, Robert Young; step-daughter, Floyda (and Lou) Luft; four siblings, Ron Hough, Bill Hough, Marjorie Cole, Opal Hartman; and many nieces and nephews.
On behalf of everyone in Mary's family, we want to thank the staff at Woodhaven Senior Center for their care and thoughtfulness.
