SEIDEL, John – of Davison, age 82, passed away Thursday, July 11, 2019 at McLaren Flint. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 11 AM Wednesday, July 17, 2019 at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church, 6340 Roberta St, Burton, MI 48509; Rev. Fr. Andrew A. Czajkowski celebrant. Visitation will be 1–8 PM Tuesday at Allen Funeral Home, 9136 Davison Rd., Davison, MI 48423. A Memorial Service under the auspices of the Davison Knights of Columbus, 3rd Degree Council #4090 and 4th Degree Assembly # 0523 will be held 6 PM Tuesday, and a Rosary will be prayed at 6:30 PM. There will be one hour of visitation prior to the service at church. Burial will be in Great Lakes National Cemetery at 10 AM Thursday, July 18, 2019. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Cerebral Palsy Foundation in honor of Surae Butkovitch’s name.
John was born in Flint, MI on June 3, 1937, son of the late Louis and Mary (Stefanich) Seidel. He married Beverley Fry on January 21, 1961and she preceded him in death. John was a member of Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church, the Davison Knights of Columbus, 3rd Degree Council #4090 and 4th Degree Assembly # 0523, the Men’s Club, and the Hungarian Club. He worked at Fisher Body- Grand Blanc, retiring in August of 1987.
John is survived by his children, Debbie (Paul) Schlegelmilch, Rabecca (Angelo) Mersino, Gail (Bob) Seidel-Simpson; grandchildren, Joshua (Stephanie), Danielle (Brent), Chelesea (Tom), Cara (Tim), Ciara (Jeff), Chelbie (Mike), Geno (Emily); great-grandchildren, Amelia, Nate, Matilda, Dominic, Vincent, Surae, Aria, Nehemiah, Timberlyn; brothers, Jim (Deanna) Seidel, Tony Seidel; sister, Janet (Norm) Davis; sister-in-law, LaVonia Seidel; special friends, Martha Danner, Lori Bavar, Bill and Brenda Lawson, Joe and Patty Robinson, Barb and Dan Pastor, Al Nemes, Max Katenhus, and Little Brother Joseph Cervantas. He was preceded in death by his brother, David Seidel.
