SWICKARD, Dolores A. (Lori) – of Clio, age 91, passed away peacefully on Monday, December 01, 2019 in Birch Run. A Mass of Resurrection will be celebrated at 11AM Friday, December 06, 2019 at Saints Charles and Helena Catholic Church in Clio Michigan. Rev. Fr. Kenneth Coughlin officiating. The family will receive visitors at the O’Guinn Family Funeral Home in Clio on Thursday, December 5, 2019 from 6PM until 8PM and at the Church on Friday, December 6, 2019 at 10AM until the time of the Mass. A Rosary will be prayed at 7pm on Thursday.
Dolores was born April, 3, 1928 in Saginaw, Michigan to the late Cyril and Meta (Himm) Fortier. Dolores attended Saginaw High School and later Mott Community College where she obtained her LPN. She married Robert Swickard on June 16, 1966. He preceded her in death in 2002. Dolores worked at a number of hospitals (FOH, St. Joseph Flint, McLaren, Clio Convalescent Home) with everyone from babies in the nursery to elder care. She was a member of Saints Charles and Helena Catholic Church in Clio. Dolores was a devoted mother and homemaker. She enjoyed needlework, traveling and camping, her beloved dogs, and she had a strong musical interest, singing in the choir. She loved spending time with her grandchildren.
Surviving are: Sons: Donald (Renee’) Wagle Jr. of Clio, Robert (Michelle) Swickard of Clio; Daughters: Diane L. Jones of Clio, Margaret A. (John Castanon) Wagle of Saginaw, and Deborah (David) Fockler of Clio; 18 Grandchildren; 29 great grandchildren; 4 great-great grandchildren; Sisters: Donna, and Jeannette. Dolores was also preceded in death by Brothers: Cyril, Charles, Richard, Duane, Robert, and Larry; Sisters: Marie, and Bernice; Grandchildren: Wendel William Wagner, Haley Swickard; Great grandson: Zander Angel Mitchell.
