HALL, Amos Edwin - Age 83, of Swartz Creek, passed away on Thursday, August 8, 2019 surrounded by his loving family. Funeral services will be held 11 AM Wednesday, August 14, 2019 at Sharp Funeral Homes, Miller Road Chapel, 8138 Miller Road, Swartz Creek. Chaplain Adam Doyle officiating. Burial in Jerome Township Cemetery, Sanford. Visitation will be held at the funeral home Tuesday from 5-8 PM and Wednesday from 10 AM until the time of the service. In lieu of flowers, those desiring may make contributions to the Ronald McDonald House Charities, 4707 St. Antione St, #200, Detroit, MI 48201 or to the CHARGE Syndrome Foundation, 318 Half Day Road, #305 Buffalo Grove, IL 60089.
Amos was born in Perryville, AR and grew up in Gideon, MO. He came to Michigan in 1954. He worked at General Motors Truck and Bus on Van Slyke Road in the paint and polish department for 36 years retiring in 1989. He loved "bugging" teenagers who came to the house for the weekends with grandson, Noah. He loved fishing, traveling to Texas and Florida, and camping with the in-laws. Amos and his brother-in-law, Bob Hinkle, spent many days together collecting NASCAR at the flea markets through the winter.
He leaves to mourn him: his wife of 63 years, Rosealee; children, Tammie Scott, Amos E. Hall, Jr., Bryan Dawson, and Jeff Hall; grandchildren, Emily (Tyler) Baker, Rachel Daniel, Isabella Hall, Noah Scott, Sarah Hall; great grandchildren, Oliver Haselhuhn and Owyn Baker; sisters and brothers-in-law, Blanch and Glen Rhine, Ruby Hinds, A.D. Sissom, Marie Hayes, Sue Baker, Jan Best, and Delores Hall; many nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews, and great-great nieces and nephews; and special friend Jack Fry, who was like a brother to Amos.
Amos was preceded in death by his mothers, Flava Hall and Elsie Hall; father, Jessie U. Hall; granddaughter, Danielle Gibson; sisters, brothers, and brothers-in-law, Erma and Eugene Bracken, Bill Hall, Mary Sissom, Velma Dale, Jerry Dale, Jimmy Hall, Billy Baker, Margie Baker, Eugene and Gail Powers, Roy Hinds, James Hayes, and Bill Keyes.
