Tara A. Sturgis, age 28, of Gaines, died Sat., June 23, 2012. Funeral services will be held 2:00 P.M.Sat. June 30, 2012 at the Dryer Funeral Home, Holly with Elder Hollis Barker officiating. Visitation will be from 2-9 Fri. and. 12 until the time of the service Sat. Tara was born in Flint on Nov.17, 1983, the daughter of Andrew and Deborah (Ambrose) Tabbert. She was a graduate of Linden High School and Central Michigan University, where he was a member of the Alpha Gamma Delta Sorority. She was an employee of the Genesee County Humane Society, a lifetime member of the Girl Scouts and was training in Emergency Preparedness for Animal Rescue. She is survived by her husband John; parents, Andy and Debbie Tabbert of Linden; sister Amanda Tabbert (fiancé Cody Squibb) of Lansing; father and mother-in-law, John and Patricia Sturgis of Belding; sister-in-law Nichole Sturgis of Muskegon; brother-in-law Matthew Sturgis of Lansing; several aunts, uncles, and cousins; and her dog Harley.
