ODOM, Mary Lou – Of Mt. Morris, age 91, died Monday, March 19, 2018 at Birchwood Meadows. Funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, March 22, 2018 St. Paul Episcopal Church, 711 South Saginaw Street, Flint, Reverend Dan Schied officiating. Those desiring may make contributions to Christ Enrichment Center. Visitation 4-8 p.m. Wednesday at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road. Mrs. Odom will be at the church from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service on Thursday. Mary was born in Evanston, Illinois on June 19, 1926, the daughter of the late Thomas and Anna (Krall) Gash and was a resident of the Flint area since 1947. She was a member of St. Paul Episcopal Church, where she served as Usher. She was a member of St. Paul Outreach Program, Industrial Business Girls, American Business Women’s Association, Alcoholics Anonymous, Love, Inc. and also volunteered at the North End Soup Kitchen. She enjoyed shooting pool and was an avid golfer, golfing on three leagues. Mary was employed at Dupont for 32 years, retiring in January, 1988. Surviving are grandchildren, Tonya Boaz, Tommy Odom and Lindsay Darby; great-grandchildren, Jovan, Hunter, Gareth, Yelena and Destiny; daughter-in-law, Ann Darby; sisters, Dolores Rubo of Sharon, Illinois and Vivian Butler of Wonder Lake, Illinois; several nieces and nephews; special friends, Cyndi, Karen, Susan, Candy, James, Sonda and Jackie. Mrs. Odom was preceded in death by her daughter, Linda Sue; son, Tommy Ray; her parents, Thomas and Ann Gash; brother Thomas Gash and sister-in-law, Katie Odom.
