FOERSTER, Lois M. “Marie” (Phillips) – Burton, age 83, passed away July 14, 2020 surrounded by her family. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 11AM Monday, July 20, 2020 at St. Mark Catholic Church, 7296 Gale Rd., Grand Blanc, MI 48439; Fr. Dave Howell and Deacon Ron Kenney con-celebrants. Private burial will be in Flint Memorial Park Cemetery. Adhering to social distancing guidelines, visitation will take place at St. Mark Catholic Church from 5-7 PM on Sunday, July 19, 2020. Visitation on Monday will begin at 10:30 AM until the time of Mass at church. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Disabled American Veterans, 4270 E Bristol Rd, Burton, MI 48519.
Marie was born in Breitung, Michigan on February 11, 1937, daughter of the late Staley Ford and Margaret Elsie (Wherry) Phillips. She married Russell Foerster on March 4, 1959 and he preceded her in death on November 12, 2015. Marie was the organist at St. Mark Catholic Church and Blessed Sacrament Catholic Churches for over 25 years. She enjoyed singing in the choir with friends at Medilodge in Grand Blanc for the last 6 years. Her greatest joys in life were playing the piano and having her 4 boys around her.
Marie is survived by her sons, Gary (Barbara) Foerster, Dale (Debi) Foerster and Glen Foerster; granddaughters, Nicole Shaw, Jillian Potter, Danielle and Kimberly Spanding; 6 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her son, Randy Foerster.
