McCARTHY, Frank Earl – Of Flint, age 60, died Monday, March 12, 2018 at his residence.
Funeral service will be held at 1p.m. Thursday, March 22, 2018 at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road, Father Roy Horning officiating.
Burial in Sunset Hills Cemetery.
Those desiring may make contributions to Toys for Tots or the Old Newsboys.
Visitation 2-8 p.m. Wednesday and 12 p.m. Thursday until the time of the service at the funeral home.
Frank was born in Flint, Michigan on January 8, 1958, the son of the late Charles and Nora (Boyle) McCarthy.
He was a talented artist and formerly owned Flint Sign and Design, as well as, working as a Millwright at General Motors for 32 years. Frank was the past President, and current member, of the Ancient Order of Hibernians-Sullivan and O’Sullivan Division. Frank had a generous heart and was very involved with the Old Newsboys and the Toys for Tots program over the years. His community involvement touched many lives. Frank would also bring joy by playing Santa Claus. Rugby was another passion of his and he was a former member of the Flint Rogues Rugby Club.

He was preceded in death by his parents; Charles and Nora McCarthy, brothers; Bill McCarthy Mary) and Mike McCarthy, cousins; Nancy Hubbard (Henry), Charles Pierce (Laurie)and great-nephew, William.
