ALIGOOD-CLARK, Karen E. – of Burton, formerly of Flint Twp., age 69, passed away January 29, 2017 at Heartland Health Care Center – Briarwood. A Funeral Service will be held 11:00 AM Thursday, February 2, 2017 at Allen Funeral Home, 9136 Davison Rd., Davison. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery. Visitation will be 12-2 & 4-7 PM Wednesday and 10-11 AM Thursday. Memorial contributions may be made to the Humane Society of Genesee County.
Karen was born in St. Louis, MO on May 17, 1947, daughter of the late Hershel “Toad” and Alta Walls. She married Don Clark on August 12, 1995. Karen was a member of the Eastern Star and a former Trustee of Flint Township. Karen had a passion and active role in local politics. She worked as a bookkeeper with UAW Local 659 and 598 for 50 years.
Karen is survived by her husband, Don Clark; daughter, Meredith L. (Mike) Aligood-Block of Burton; grandson, Hershel “Tad” Aligood of Burton; brothers, Ken (Ginny) Walls of Glennie, Robert (Bonnie) Walls of Flushing; stepchildren, Tracy (Kim) Clark of Louisville and Teresa Hernandez of Flint; nieces, nephews, extended family and dear friends. She was preceded in death by her late husband, Jim Aligood in 2003.
