ERVIN, James N. “Jim” - Of Flint, age 78, died Saturday, October 27, 2012 at his residence following a battle with Mesothelioma.
Visitation 4-8pm Monday and 12-8pm Tuesday at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road. Mr. Ervin will be at the church 10am Wednesday until the time of the service.
Funeral service will be held 12pm Wednesday October 31, 2012 at Lamb of God Lutheran Church, 2051 West Maple Avenue, Flint,
Reverend Paul Boerger officiating.
Burial in Evergreen Cemetery.
Those desiring may make contributions to Lamb of God Lutheran Church or the Burton Senior Citizen Center.
James was born in Flint on December 30, 1933, the son of the late Fred and Hazel Ervin, and was a resident of the Flint area all of his life. He married Jacqueline Falk on October 22, 1954. He was a member of Lamb of God Lutheran Church (formerly Peace Lutheran Church). He enjoyed golfing and woodworking. Mr. Ervin was employed by AC Spark Plug Division for 44 years, retiring in 1997 and was a member of UAW Local #651. He was an active volunteer of the Burton Senior Citizen Center.
Surviving are loving wife of 58 years, Jacqueline;
sons, John and wife Deloris of Davison, Jerry and wife Deborah of Shelby Twp., Jeffery of Burton;
grandchildren, Eric (Melissa) Ervin, Angela (Jeff) Woods, Dana (Troy) Harrison, Rachel Ervin, Josh Ervin, Amanda (Matt) Kelly;
great-grandchildren, Ethan, Jaden and Lydia;
brothers, Robert and wife Dorothy, Kenneth and wife Joyce, sister, Betty and husband Leon Nunn;
sisters-in-law, Patti and JoAnn Ervin;
brother-in-law, Bruce Craig;
many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his brothers, Edward, Raymond and Paul, sisters, Doris Ervin and Marion Craig. Your condolences may be shared with the family at swartzfuneralhomeinc.com
