NIELSEN, Robert – of Genesee Township, MI, age 87, passed away Wednesday, February 5, 2020 at his residence. A Funeral Service with Military Honors will be held 1:30PM Saturday, February 8, 2020 at Allen Funeral Home, 9136 Davison Road, Davison, MI 48423. officiating. The family will receive visitors from 11:30AM Saturday until the time of the service. Cremation will take place following the service.
Robert was born in Sault Ste. Marie, MI on April 16, 1932, son of the late Niels and Minerva (Perry) Nielsen. He graduated from Sault Ste. Marie High School in 1951. Robert married Beverly Richardson on February 2, 1957. He worked at Complete Auto Transit for 35 years. Robert loved hunting, fishing and swimming.
He is survived by his loving wife of 63 years, Beverly; children, JoAnn (Tim) Hoover, Diane Wolosonowich, Djarlene (Kelvin) Baker, Robert Jr., Cynthia (James) Griffus, James Nielsen; 14 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; brother, Ken (Mary) Nielsen; several nieces and nephews
He was preceded in death by daughter, Barbara Lynn Nielsen; brothers, Farrell, Rodney, Russell; sisters, Ruby, Shirley, Audrey, Patsy and Lulabelle; wife’s parents, Barnard and Helen Richardson.
