ALLEN, Bret, David - of Clio, age 54, passed away peacefully on Friday September 27, 2013 at the home of his longtime friend, Jennie Babcock. He fought the good fight against multiple sclerosis and did so with dignity and patience. Funeral services will be 3 PM Monday, September 30, 2013 at the O’Guinn Family Funeral Home in Clio. Chaplain Goodman Cox officiating. Cremation to follow. Friends may call at the funeral home on Monday from 1 PM until time of services at 3 PM. Contributions may be made to the family.
Bret was born February 3, 1959 in Flint, the second son to the late Darrell and Joan (Batchelder) Allen. Bret loved being outdoors and always sported the best tan early in the spring! He raced stock cars, loved to hunt, fish and was an all-around great friend and a good man. Bret was best known for his kindness and sweet spirit.
He will be greatly missed by: friend, Jennie; sister, Valerie (Dave) Jones; uncle, Bob Allen (Mary); several nieces and nephews; and his loving canine companions, Sophia and Sammie. He was also preceded in death by: brother, Robin. The family extends a special thanks to those who lifted his spirits and brought him comfort and joy; Cindy Hill, Kent Cousineau, Solomon, Ernisha, Quintin, Renee, Jess, Ineada, Dr. Henry Hagenstein and Dr. Jonathon Arborgast and their staffs.
