Judy Havrilla was born in Flint, Michigan to William Geyer and Betty Geyer (Harvey), graduated from Hoover High School, and worked for Michigan Bell Telephone for many years.
On November 12, 1960, she married her high school sweetheart, John Havrilla. Together they raised their “three boys” Jeff, Joe, and John, taking them on many trips throughout Michigan, the U.S. and the Virgin Islands. They enjoyed their 62 years together, spending time with family and friends, attending their grandchildren’s events, enjoying numerous trips and activities with their friends, and loving their view of Runyan Lake in Fenton.
Judy was a loving mother to Jeff (Carmen), Joe (Donna), and John; a caring grandmother to Kristen, Kathryn, Josh, Nikolai, Danielle, Allison, and Nate; big sister to Linda Sherrill (Tom), Vicki Vassalo (Tom Hannah), and Wendy Norton (Mike); sister-in-law to JoAnn Lubiato (Carlo); aunt to Chris, Marc, Pete, Kerry, Annemarie, Tommy, Todd, and Sarah; and a great friend to many. She was preceded in death by her husband John and her parents.
The family wishes to extend their gratitude to all the staff at BeeHive Homes of Oxford, Transitions-Cardinal Hospice, and Living Joy of Flushing.
Visitation: Thursday, July 11, 2024, from 3 pm – 8 pm at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Rd., Flint. A short prayer service and sharing of memories will take place at 7 pm on Thursday. Additional Visitation 9:30 am at the church, until the time of Divine Liturgy.
Divine Liturgy: Friday, July 12, 2024 at 10:30 am will be celebrated at St. Michael the Archangel Byzantine Catholic Church, 2333 North Elms Road, Flushing, The Very Reverend James Batcha officiating.
Burial in New Calvary Catholic Cemetery – Flint, MI.
Those desiring may make contributions in Judy’s name to the Alzheimer’s Association (alz.org).
