BURROW, Harold Vernon “Whitey” – age 86, of Grand Blanc, MI, passed away into peace on Wednesday, December 10, 2014. Visitation will be held on Saturday, December 13, 2014 from 1 PM-2 PM at Brown Funeral Home -1480 E. Hill Rd., Grand Blanc. A memorial service will take place at 2 PM at the funeral home. Inurnment will take place at Great Lakes National Cemetery at a later date. Harold was born June 30, 1928 in Flint, MI to Duke and Oma (Pulliam) Burrow. He was raised in Grand Blanc, MI and lived most of his adult life in Goodrich, MI. He attended Grand Blanc High School. Harold was also a proud member of the United States Navy. He attended the Michigan State University to study Botany and Animal Husbandry. He was a founding member of the Grand Blanc Huntsman Club and devoted a long period of time to its growth and operation. He owned and operated Glendale Shooting Preserve in Goodrich, MI and entertained many celebrities from the Michigan area on the preserve including politicians, the Detroit Lions, and the Detroit Mafia. Harold was active in the real estate market and was a licensed real estate agent and owner. He was an avid hunter, fisherman, and hunted all his life with his many friends who shared the joy that it brought to them all. Much to the dismay of his children, the hunt was also the next meal on the table. His charitable interests included the March of Dimes, which he contributed much time and organizational skills to its benefit. Harold was also a staunch Republican and was a past delegate to the RNC. He is survived by his children; Lynn (Omer ) Cloutier, Julie (Douglas) LaBarge, 5 grandchildren; Monica (Bill) Henson, Jessica Rocheleau, Ashley LaBarge, Whitney LaBarge, and Ryan LaBarge, great-grandchildren; Connor, London, Miranda, Cody, Arianna, and Justin, great-great grandchild; Christopher, two brothers; Jerry Burrow, and Deloy (Norma) Burrow, nephew; Jeff Burrow, and niece; Jennifer Burrow. He is also survived by Shirley Evans, who has shared his life for nearly 30 years. He was preceded in death by his father; Duke Burrow, mother; Oma Beamish, step-father; Glenn Beamish, wife; Joyce Ann, niece; Jane Burrow, and nephew; Craig Burrow. The family would like to extend a special thank you to Reverence Hospice, Wynwood Assisted Living, the staff of Genesys Convalescent Center, and Dr. Larry Braver for all of your endless care and support through this difficult time.
