Harold L. Dolehanty
Age 87 of Rose City passed away Tuesday, November 12, 2013 at Memorial Healthcare Center.
A mass of Christian burial will be held 11am Saturday, November 16, 2013 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Gaines with Fr. Jeff Pohl officiating. Burial will take place at Lane Heights Cemetery in Lupton, Michigan on Monday. The family will receive friends on Saturday at the church from 10am until the time of service.
Harold was born August 26, 1926, the son of Daniel and Alma (Brown) Dolehanty.
He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in West Branch and loved to be outdoors in nature; especially deer hunting with both bow and gun, snowmobiling and 4 wheeling. Church was very important to Harold. He looked forward to trips and traveling with his wife. Most of all Harold was happiest when he was with his family and he especially loved being with his grandchildren.
Harold served in the United States Navy during World War II and Korean Wars and retired from Grand Trunk Railroad after 44 years of service.
He married Betty Jean Davis on September 19, 1953; she predeceased him in 2008.
Harold is survived by his five children Fred (Nancy) Dolehanty, Trudy (Gary) Reetz, Lonne (Robert) Brown, Teresa (Robert) Krieger and Laura (Steve) Zyber; many grandchildren and five great-grandchildren; brother Paul Delehanty; sisters Helen Aurand and Ruth Bennetts; several nieces, nephews and other family members.
He was also predeceased by his grandson Colin, a sister and five brothers.
Memorial contributions are suggested to Owosso Memorial Healthcare Hospice or Operation Injured Soldiers.
