Helen Louise Gooding, age 99 of Ft. Myers, FL, formerly of Durand, MI passed away on Saturday at Manor Care in Ft. Myers, FL.
Helen was born in Battle Creek, MI on May 29, 1913, the daughter of James & Pheba (Powers) LaGrange. She was a past member of the First Congregational Church in Durand, active in the Durand Senior Center. She married Bert Auten and then Earl Gooding, both predeceased her. Helen was a seamstress.
Funeral services will be held at Watkins Brothers Funeral Home in Durand on Friday December 7, 2012 at 11:00 am. Pastor John Walworth will officiate with burial to follow at Greenwood Cemetery in Vernon. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday 2-4 & 6-8 pm.
Helen is survived by her daughter Kay Smith of Ft. Myers, FL, son Ronald (Janice) Gooding of Pentwater, MI, 14 grandchildren, many great grandchildren and great great grandchildren. She was predeceased by husbands Bert and Earl, son Gerald, daughter Jane Harman, son in law Duane Smith, sister Lena Smith.
