Denis "Denny" Lawrence DeView, 82, formerly of Greenbush & Lapeer, MI, died Thursday April 9, 2015. He was born March 5, 1933 in Flint to parents Ernest and Tressia (Kehoe) DeView. He married Mary Jo Klein on June 28, 1964 in Saginaw.
Mr. DeView served his country in the Unites States Army, as a smoke generator, during the Korean War. He is well remembered as a car salesman, Fords in Imlay City and Chevys in Lapeer. Denny was a member of St. Raphael Catholic Church, Mikado. He enjoyed traveling especially wintering in Orange Beach, AL. Mr. DeView was a huge fan of Johnny Cash, was an avid Michigan State Spartan fan and going to deer hunting camp. He had a special friendship with Bill W.
Denny is survived by his wife of 50 years: Mary Jo DeView, daughters: Ellen DeView of Royal Oak, Kelly (Gerald) Almquist of TX, siblings: Kathryn DeView of Lapeer, David (Barbara) DeView of Selby Twp., in-laws: Ted and Maureen Klein of AZ and numerous nieces & nephews. He was preceded in death by siblings: Mary Sullivan, Betty Snoddy, Julia Hale, Robert DeView, Alice Smith, Helen Weinreis, Tom and Joe DeView and his parents.
Visitation will be 1:00-8:00pm Sunday April 12, 2015 at Muir Brothers Funeral Home, Lapeer, with a 7:00pm Rosary. His funeral mass will be 11:00am Monday, April 13, 2015 at the St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, Davison, Fr. Lawrence Boks officiating. A private will take place in Great Lakes National Cemetery, Holly.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Leader Dogs or McLaren Hospice of Bay City. www.MuirBrothersLapeer.com A memorial service will be 2pm Thursday April 9, 2015 at Grace Episcopal Church, Lapeer, The Rev. Sue Rich officiating. The family will receive friends from 1:00pm through the service, all at the church Thursday. Interment of cremated remains will be in Mt.
