POWELL, Rose A. - Age 94, of Fenton, died April 6, 2018. Funeral services will be held 11 AM Tuesday, April 10, 2018 at Tyrone Covenant Presbyterian Church, 10235 White Lake Rd., Fenton. Pastor Mark Hudson will officiate. Burial will follow in Oakwood Cemetery. Visitation will be held 2-4 & 6-8 PM Monday at Sharp Funeral Homes, Fenton Chapel, 1000 Silver Lake Rd., Fenton and from 10 AM until the time of service Tuesday at the church. In lieu of flowers, those desiring may make contributions to Tyrone Covenant Presbyterian Church. Rose was born June 18, 1923 in Fenton, the daughter of Howard and Kittie (Cramer) Buffmyer and had lived in Fenton her entire life. She married Dallas Powell on March 14, 1942. Rose was a homemaker and enjoyed raising her family. During that time, she served as a homeroom mother, as well as a Brownie and Girl Scout Leader. She was an active volunteer at church. She loved cooking, baking, canning, gardening, crocheting and knitting. Following retirement she and Dallas spent a lot of time traveling. Rose was a kindhearted person and a wonderful grandmother. She is survived by her husband of 76 years, Dallas; daughter, Karen (Walt) Hajec of Fenton; daughter-in-law, Helen Powell of West Virginia; grandchildren, Kimberly (John) Raymond, Michael Powell and Dallas Scott Powell; step-grandchildren, Theresa Hajec, Patrick (Kim) Hajec, Greg (Annette) Hajec and Dan (Shannon) Hajec; many great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her son, Dallas Roy Powell in November 2006; brother, Roy (Ella) Buffmyer.
