MacDermaid, Sally N. – of Davison, age 78, passed away November 10, 2012 at her residence. A Funeral Service will be held 11:00 AM Wednesday, November 14, 2012 at Trinity Lutheran Church, 706 W. Flint St., Davison; Rev. Todd Frusti and Rev. Randy Schultz co-officiating. Burial will be in St. John Catholic Cemetery. Visitation will be 6-8 PM Monday and 2-4 and 6-8 PM Tuesday at Allen Funeral Home, 9136 Davison Rd., Davison. There will be one hour of visitation prior to the service on Wednesday at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Genesys Hurley Cancer Institute, 302 Kensington Ave., Flint, MI 48503.
Sally was born in Flint, MI on January 15, 1934, daughter of the late, Walter and Geraldine (Whitehead) Pett. She married Robert MacDermaid at St. Paul Lutheran Church on October 9, 1954. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Davison, Business Women’s Association and she was a Sunday School Teacher for over 30 years. Sally enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. She owned Sally’s Seams Sew Good, worked at Genova and Buick Automotive for a time.
Sally is survived by her husband, Robert; children, Gary (Teresa) MacDermaid, Wanda (Mike) Kitchen and John MacDermaid; grandchildren, Christine, Joshua R., Michael, Tyler, Robert A. III, Jason and Joshua J.; sister, Carolyn (Larry) Topham; stepbrother-in-law, Donald Rutledge; sisters-in-law, Lucielle MacDermaid and Ida (Ardel) Fox; brother-in-law, Gordon (Linda) MacDermaid; several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her son, Robert A. MacDermaid II; 2 sisters and 4 brothers-in-law. A special thanks to Dr. Danish and staff, LindaAnn Fike and Avalon Hospice.
