Narie Ona Sutphen, born January 11, 1941 to Archie and Io Dufort. She was raised a city girl from Detroit, and then a small town gal when she married James Sutphen on September 27, 1958.
She raised 3 children, Ivagene, Nora and Jay. She had many jobs over her life, foremost a housewife, homemaker and mother. She also worked for the Fostoria Post Office, Pierson’s Market, helped out at Mina’s store, secretary at Wilkinson Chemical, and one of her greatest joys was her grandchildren.
She is survived by her husband of 66 years, James (Jim) Sutphen; children, Ivagene (Ronald) Lumley, Nora DeMott and Jay (Rene) Sutphen; grandchildren, Angela, Matt, Adam and Zach Lumley, Cris (Nikki), Davad (Emi), Terry DeMott and Audria (Adam) Gilliland; great grandchildren, Madison and Abigail Halac, Marissa Wilcox, AJ Lumley, Carter and Braylin (Kendall) DeMott, Kailyn and Zacary (Xana) Chaney and Austin Gilliland; great great grandchildren, Lindlee and Skya.
Narie was preceded in death by her parents, Archie and Io Dufort; brother, Dale Dufort; and sister in law, Francine (Dufort) Czaczkowski.
A Celebration of Life will be held from 2-5 PM on Sunday, September 29, 2024 at the Tribesmen M/C Fostoria Club, 914 Garfield Rd, Fostoria, MI 48435.
