BERGMAN, Clarence “Bud” Age 86, of Black River, Michigan, formerly of Flushing, died peacefully Thursday, July 4, 2013 surrounded by his family. Born November 28, 1926, in Lake Orion, Michigan, he was the son of the late William and Lucille (Barnes) Bergman.
Bud was a choral music teacher for Beecher and Flint Schools district for more than 30 years and served this country in the Air Force band during WWII in Japan. He enjoyed sailing the Great Lakes and tinkering in his workshop. His passion was singing and he spent many Sundays with the church choir at First United Methodist Church in Alpena.
He is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Sally (Perkins) Bergman; along with five children; Michael and Kelly Bergman of Forest Knolls, California, Karen and Mark Anderson of Prescott, Arizona, Jim Bergman of Denver, Colorado, SueAnn Wick of Marysville, Ohio, and Beth and Jeff Kremkow of Holly, Michigan; 8 grandchildren, Kathryn Roethel, Annie Roethel, Aaron Wick, Caleb Wick, Jacob Kremkow, Aidan Bergman, Makena Bergman, Kristopher Kremkow; a sister, Nancy Johnson of Rochester Hills, Michigan; a sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Jean and Walt Engberg of Hubbard Lake, Michigan and many loving nieces, nephews and relatives.
Memorial Visitation for Bud Bergman will be held from 10am-1pm, and 4-7 p.m. Tuesday, July 9, 2013 at the Swartz Funeral Home,1225 West Hill Road, Flint, Michigan.
Cremains will be interred at the Great Lakes National Cemetery in Holly, Michigan at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to First United Methodist Church, 167 S Ripley Blvd, Alpena, MI 49707 or the American Cancer Society.
