Douglas Jay Hedrick was born on February 7, 1941 and went home to Heaven on September 5, 2018. Loving husband, father, grandfather, and friend to all. Survived by his wife, Ellen; brother, Oscar (Jan); children: David (Jana), Doug (Maggie), Cathy (BJ), Jennifer (Paul), Josie (Brad); eighteen grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; many nieces and nephews. Douglas retired from General Motors in 2000, after 35 years. He also loved his tree trimming business and was a proud sailor in the United States Navy from 1958-1962. He was a family man who invested his life in his children and grandchildren. He is very loved and will be greatly missed. A funeral service will be held at 1pm on Monday, September 10, 2018 at Trinity Baptist Church, 4222 Elms Rd., Flushing. Pastor Glynn McMorris officiating. Visitation will be held on Sunday, September 9, 2018 from 4-8pm at Brown Funeral Home, 1480 E. Hill Rd., Grand Blanc, and again on Monday at church beginning at 12pm. Interment at Great Lakes National Cemetery. |
