OGINSKY, Fred Dennis – Of Flint Township, age 73, died Friday, August 14, 2020 at McLaren-Flint.
Funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, August 18, 2020 at St. Nicholas Orthodox Church, 2143 South Center Road, Burton, Reverend Father Matthew-Peter Butrie officiating.
Burial at Sunset Hills Cemetery.
Those desiring may make contributions to St. Nicholas Orthodox Church or the family.
Visitation will be at Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road, Flint on Monday from 3 p.m.- 8 p.m. for family and friends.
A Parastas Service will be held at 7 p.m.
Fred will lie in state at St. Nicholas Orthodox Church for visitation 9 a.m. to 10 a.m. Tuesday at the church.
Fred was born in Flint, Michigan on November 14, 1946, to Joseph and Mary Oginsky, one of 12 children.
He was a graduate of Carman-Ainsworth High School in Flint.
He was a retiree of GM as a Skilled Tradesman, a UAW committeeman, and a life-long member of St. Nicholas Orthodox Church.
Fred loved polka music, playing the accordion, his family, and his Orthodox Christian faith.
Fred is survived by his children, Anthony and Lucinda;
5 grandchildren; many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
He is also survived by brothers, Frank, Robert, James, Joseph and Nicholas;
sister, Joanne.
Fred was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Mary Oginsky; brothers, Paul (Butch), Douglas and Peter; sisters, Helen and Norma.
