LEE, Judy Marie – of Clio, age 77, died Friday, June 16, 2017, at McLaren of Flint, from the side effects of cancer treatment. Judy was born in Mt. Morris, Michigan on February 1, 1940 to Nina (Partlo) Haynes and the late Loyd Haynes. She resided in the Clio area for most of her life. She graduated from Clio High School in 1958 and later obtained her Associates Degree from Mott Community College. She worked for General Motors Public Relations and for E.K. Williams. She served as bookkeeper and Deputy Treasurer for Vienna Township for 13 years and retired in 2002.
Judy married Donald Lee on August 24, 1963, and was very active in her community, serving on the Clio Fund Committee of the Community Foundation of Flint, the Clio Area Jaycees Auxiliary, and the Clio Area Historical Association. In 2008, she received the Outstanding Community Volunteer Award from the Clio Area Chamber of Commerce. She worked with her good friend, Sandy Anderson, in organizing and directing the youth choirs at Bethany United Methodist Church for 15 years. She loved to organize games and events and her pleasant personality made her a favorite among the young and old. She enjoyed music, art, photography, games and spending time with her family and friends.
Surviving are: Husband of 54 years, Don; Children: Steven (Jennifer) Lee, Clinton (Leesa) Lee, Mother, Nina Haynes; Grandchildren: Donald E. Lee II (Del), Jonathan Holmes, Erika Holmes and great-grandchildren: Jaxon and Sawyer; Special Uncle, Robert Haynes; Brother, Ronald (Linda) Haynes; Sister, Joanne (Dave) Crompton; Many nieces and nephews; A special thanks to friends, Karen Nichols and Janet Hutchinson.
Cremation has taken place and a celebration of her life will be held at 5PM Wednesday, June 21, 2017, at Bethany United Methodist Church. The family will receive visitors at the O'Guinn Family Funeral Home in Clio on Tuesday, June 20, 2017, from 4 PM until 8 PM. The family would like to encourage friends and family to share a story about Judy at a gathering after the services on Wednesday. A private interment service will be held at Vienna Township Cemetery at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Clio Fund of the Community Foundation of Flint.
