COUCH, Merle Eugene “Gene” – Of Burton, was born in Flint, Michigan on December 8, 1933, to the late Ernest and Bridget (Walsh) Couch. He passed away February 25, 2020 at Maple Woods Manor at the age of 86.
His wife, Lorraine (Ebel) Couch preceded his death on February 24, 1986.
Funeral service will be held at 1 P.M. Wednesday, March 4, 2020 at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road.
Burial in Evergreen Cemetery.
Visitation 11 a.m. Wednesday until the time of the service at the funeral home.
Those desiring may make contributions to The American Heart Association, American Cancer Foundation or The American Stroke Foundation
Gene worked various jobs throughout his life, including Manager at Greenley’s, General Motors and Owner of his own doughnut shop. He also served in the National Guard.
Surviving are his sons, Ricky Couch and Randy (Peggy) Couch;
2 grandchildren, Michele (Chris) Coash and Cary Sage;
4 sisters, Gail (Art) Burgess, Sandy (Art) Spongberg, Mary Vickery and Diana Morgan;
many sisters-in-law; brothers-in-law; nieces and nephews and special cousins from Canada; the Zieglers and Daisy.
He was preceded in death by his wife; parents; 5 sisters and 6 brothers.
