WALROTH, Eleanor Jane, – of Clio, age 93, passed away peacefully on Sunday, August 23, 2020 surrounded by her loving family. Mass of Christian Burial will be held 11AM Wednesday, August 26, 2020 at SS. Charles and Helena Catholic Church – 230 E. Vienna St., in Clio. Rev. Fr. Kenneth Coughlin officiating. Due to Covid-19, the family understands if you are unable to attend services but asks that you please keep them in your prayers. Private burial in New Calvary Catholic Cemetery. Private family visitation will be held at the O’Guinn Family Funeral Home in Clio on Tuesday. The family will receive visitors at the church on Wednesday from 10AM until the time of Mass at 11AM. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to SS. Charles and Helena Catholic Church or the Eastern Michigan Food Bank.
Eleanor was born January 5, 1927 in Clio, Michigan to the late Harold and Freida (Conrad) Morgan. She was orphaned at the age of 5 and lived with her paternal aunt & uncle, Mae and Lou Wildfong. Eleanor graduated from Clio High School in 1944. She married Frederick Walroth on January 22, 1949 at St. Michael Catholic Church in Flint. He preceded her in death March 30, 1984. Eleanor was a member of SS. Charles and Helena Catholic Church and a founding member of the Clio Country Club. She and Fred raised 7 children. Eleanor loved to see her grandchildren and great grandchildren; they were her greatest joy in life. She enjoyed golfing, sewing, word searches, and shopping. Eleanor also enjoyed baking and was known for her famous carrot cake and pies.
Left to cherish her memory are: Children: Debbie (Keith) Clarke, Laurie Losey, Fred Walroth Jr. (Mary Qualman), Jayne (Mark) Hooks, Tom (Joanne) Walroth, Jill (Gary) Barcey, and Michele (James) Swenor; Grandchildren: Chris (Mojan) Clarke, Michael (Ester) Clarke, Aaron (Alice) Clarke, Ryan White, Eric White, Jason White, Nicholas Losey, Michelle (Brian) Stackpoole, Mark (Emily) Hooks Jr., Karlee (Tim) Ryan, Tom (Allyson) Walroth, Bryan (Apryl) Walroth, and Brittany Walroth (Patrick Wilson); 15 great grandchildren: Daniel, Sophia, Melodie, Benjamin, Robin, Tyson, Eleanor, Gabriella, Jack, Henry, Frances, Charlotte, Finley, Holden, and Nikki; Special sister in law, Junis Wildfong; Special friends: Jean Salem, and Judy DeCaire; Many loved nieces and nephews in Michigan and Cincinnati, Ohio. Eleanor was also preceded in death by: Infant son, Teddy in 1950; All of her brothers and sisters.
